Lucerna by Edmundas Kasciukaitis

I always like to hang around on old street markets. Look around for hidden treasures, or an underestimated object which can give you much more than the seller could ever imagine. This is the typical genius creation I would like to have when walking around in those markets. Easy, simple, old fashioned and with a light steampunk touch.
Edmundas Kasciukaitis (Lithuania) is the perfect member of your team. A bit of MacGyver and a pinch of Mollino, mixed together in a mid 70s KitchenAid. He is competent in a full range of fields, from product design, passing by interior design and ending to photography. He looks like the problem solver every designer would have on his side.
Details in Lucerna are awesome. I really loved the turquoise linen cord , which break the harmony of the wood case and the light bulb glass, transposing the object in our time without being so vintage pretentious.
Here are some details:
|Oak, covered with beeswax.
Dimensions – 150 x 55 x 80 mm
Cable lenght – about 1550 mm
|Handmade bulb included.|
I don’t think it’s currently in production. Probably more a one piece design.
